DAMAZO FIT GUIDE
Find Your Perfect Fit
Damazo hats are designed with deeper crowns and silk-lined interiors to help protect your hair while maintaining a comfortable, flattering fit.
How to Measure Your Head
- Use a soft measuring tape.
- Wrap it around your head just above your eyebrows and ears.
- Keep the tape snug but not tight.
- The measurement in centimeters (cm) is your head size.
Tip: Measure with your hair styled the way you normally wear it.

Your hair deserves better than a traditional sun hat
Wide-brim coverage on the outside. 22-momme mulberry silk where the hat meets your hair, so the crown does not flatten volume or catch at your edges the way scratchy straw does.
22-momme silk lining
OEKO-TEX® certified mulberry silk at the crown—the same weight women buy for pillowcases—so friction stays off every texture.
Roomy structured crown
Built to hold curls, coils, waves, and blowouts without pressing a dent into the style you spent the morning on.
Breathable straw, wide brim
Lightweight straw keeps air moving while the brim shades face, neck, and part line through a full outdoor day.
Ordinary straw damages hair. Soleil lines the crown in silk.
Same sun job. Completely different surface on your hair, brim structure, and wrap finish—so you are not choosing between shade and a style that survives lunch.
22-momme mulberry silk where the hat actually touches hair
Handcrafted crown wraps with leather, lace, or stone—not a glued-on band
Soleil silk-lined sun hat
Typical straw sun hat
From straw to silk-lined crown in three quiet details
Each Soleil piece is built so shade, breathability, and hair space work together—not as afterthoughts on a stiff tourist brim.

01
Breathable straw, not a heat trap
Open weave keeps air moving on warm days while the silhouette stays refined enough for lunch, travel, and garden hours.
-
02
Structured brim that holds shade
A wide brim that keeps its line so face, neck, and part stay covered without flopping into your eyes by afternoon.
-
03
Handcrafted wrap, roomy crown
Layered wraps finished by hand sit over a crown sized for real hair—straight, wavy, curly, coily—plus silk at the contact point.

Will this flatten my curls or a blowout?
The crown is cut roomy on purpose, and the surface on your hair is 22-momme silk, not straw. Most women keep volume through a full day; if you are between sizes, take Large.
How do I choose Medium vs Large?
Medium is 56.5–58 cm. Large is 58.5–60 cm. Between sizes, take Large. Use the 60-second Fit Quiz if you are unsure—size exchanges in the U.S. are free.
How do I care for the silk lining?
Keep the lining dry when you can. Spot-clean silk with a barely damp cloth; do not machine-wash. Store the hat brim-up so the structure and wrap stay true.
Will the straw scratch my hairline?
The lining covers the crown where the hat sits. Edges and wraps are finished so straw is not sawing at your hair the way a bare tourist brim does.
What if the size is wrong?
Free U.S. shipping and free size exchanges. Keep the hat in wearable condition, tell us the size you need, and we will swap it so shade still meets silk.
Is the price just for a pretty wrap?
You are paying for 22-momme mulberry silk at the crown, a structured wide brim, and a handcrafted wrap—not a glued band on scratchy straw. Styles start at $75.
